Children / adolescents up to 18 years registered in the municipality of Filipstad can ski for free.

Children / adolescents up to 12 years who are registered in another municipality can ski for free.

Track cards can also be purchased in the service building's cafe on the weekends and at OK/Q8 Filipstad.

7 tracks at Kalhyttan

The seven tracks blend together at Kalhyttan Ski Stadium. There are 40 km of tracks for both freestyle and classic skiing and the track system fits everyone, from beginner to elite skier.

Artificial snow course
The 4 km artificial snow course guarantees you good skiing until the spring. It´s illuminated in the evening until 7 pm.

Natural snow courses:
2 km: Easy hilly. Illuminated.
5 km: Easy to moderate hilly. Illuminated.
Vasabanan 8 km: Slightly hilly course.
Slalom back track 10 km: Easy to moderate.
The SM tracks 10- 12.5 km: For those who want tough hopping and a real challenge.
Meadow highway 20 km: A slightly hilly course with some difficulties.

The slalom slope Dammshöjden: In connection with Kalhyttan is also the Dammshöjdens slalom slope for those who prefer to ski.

A day in the skitrack

Go ahead with the skis and come and go in Kalhyttan's well-groomed trails.

At Kalhyttan we love snow. We think you do too. The modern artificial snow plant guarantees snow throughout the winter. Kalhyttan is suitable for both exercise and those who want to train hard for Vasaloppet or SM. On site there is a booth for waxing your skis.

Make a lovely family outing on skis with cozy sausage grills and hot chocolate at the barbecue area.

At the ski playground, the children learn to ski in the most fun way. Here is a specially designed ski cross course that is perfect for children's technical and motor training with bumps and portals.

Asphalt tracks for roller skis

At Kalhyttan there is a paved course of 3,300 meters where you can ride roller skis and inlines. The track follows large parts of the artificial snow course and also has a distance of 1,300 meters which is adapted for people with disabilities. An exercise court of 300 meters is also available.

Ski lessons in classical / skate technique

As a Vasalopp rider, you certainly have cardio and strength training as a basis for the Vasalopp week. In order to get an optimal charge before the start, and a good result in the race itself, an improvement in the technology is also required. Sports / health consultant and play. Physiotherapist Heimo Marttila helps you hone your technique through ski lessons in classic skiing. Lessons are available for individuals, groups, clubs and companies.

Learn to wax your skis

There is certainly nothing worse than really badly waxed skis. On the waxing course you will learn the basics of waxing to get more out of your riding. The waxing course goes through the basic range of waxes and related equipment that you can work well with. If you have a good selection of skis then you will have a completely different riding pleasure and it will be even more fun when you have chosen the skis yourself.
